DANNY BROWN GETS A STAR IN THE MICHELIN GUIDE

This is hardly news to most of you (I've gotten numerous emails from readers letting me in on the worst kept secret our dining scene has). It's been in New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and pretty much anywhere else that the guide's list is mentioned, but I felt like, what the hell, I'll hype it up too. Yep, Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen (formerly of DB fame) got a much-deserved star in the latest Michelin Guide for NYC restaurants. As of right now, I consider it the best restaurant in the neighborhood, and one of the best in the city and it's nice to see that the international community agrees.

I'm sure ol' DB has received countless huzzahs since it became official, but add my congrats to the list!

Let's all hope that this sparks a trend that does not end here.

  1. Kudos to DB! After Dee's, DB is the best restaurant in the neighborhood.

  2. Dee's is one of the great restaurants in NYC not just for having great value but more so for the quality of the food. The red sauce is fantastic and the meat lasagna is the best in the city as is the veggie lasagna. Their seafood is top notch and the Mama's meatloaf is as good as my mam makes and thats saying a lot. Lastly the bread is as good as this city has to offer. I wouldnt get the pizza (u can get better at Nick's) but think the calzones are the best in Queens.

  3. LOL! I like Dee's as well, but wouldn't put it up there with DB's! I do believe they beat Nick's hands down as far as variety and overall dining experience. The pizza is comparable. I think Portofino's pizza reigns supreme-used to be the old Family Restaurant. The best thing about Nick's are the salads, and the last two times i was there, the salad was tired and old. Congrats to DB's!
