It took a while for me to finally make it, but the other day I schlepped over to Cabana for dinner. My overall impression was a positive one, with the exception of dessert, which was unimpressive at best. Still, the entrees and appetizers were very good. 

There was an energy at Cabana that's rare in a neighborhood filled with staid and stuffy restaurants who ironically think that lining the walls with fake flowers adds life. This is changing, of course, as the old school red saucers on Metropolitan seem perennially empty and Old Vienna Cafe hangs on by a thread. Meanwhile restaurants like Exo, Bare Burger, MoCA, Common Space, and even Bonfire attract younger energetic crowds. As this trend continues and indeed grows, I expect that Cabana will continue to pack them in.
