AGED - brunch update
This is just a quick update regarding brunch at Aged on 70th Road. Myna and I went there yesterday and they have an updated menu. She went for the Organic Egg Omelet with Swiss cheese and I tried their Utimate Sour Dough Club sandwich. The omelet was an omelet. Decent, filling. Better than many that I've had but I won't go on a psychotic rampage if they run out of omelet fixins the next time I'm there. The sourdough club was very good though. It's roast chicken and turkey, plus bacon, green tomato, lettuce, cheddar, and a chipotle aioli sauce. It was less brunchy than I'd normally go for, but very worth it.
Of course, I'm not writing about the new grub. No, Aged has gone and offered that which I think all brunch spots should offer. The bottomless glass of champagne, included with the $16 cost. When we finished eating, we grabbed our jackets, our mugs, our flutes, the Sunday Times crossword, and sauntered over to the bar where we continued to drink champagne and coffee for another hour and a half.
So I paid $22 for a sandwich, three coffees and four glasses of champagne. Tax and tip included. THAT's how you do a brunch.
